This famous bazaar has two sections- the tourist section and the local section where everything is manufactured and sold either to the tourists or to local Egyptians (you can probably tell from the photos which section is for the locals and the tourists). Traveling this market with Chris and Kenny was a gift to start my travels. I became a pupil in How to Bargain Kenny Style 101 and after about a hundred times of watching in amazement at his skill I was finally able to meekly get the price down a buck or two on my own. Next time I am signing up for the advanced class.
